Clean & Lean Green Lemon Smoothie

The problem with most traditional smoothie recipes is too much sugar content. Most fruits are considered more of a treat on my #30 Day Transformation Challenge because of their high sugar.

Smoothies packed with processed ingredients such as soy milk, peanut butter, and artificial flavors can cause sluggishness and brain fog diminishing the benefits that smoothies can offer.

Two scoops of 100% grass-fed protein along with real foods such as avocado, spinach greens, lemon juice, and MCT oil will provide healthy fats for energy all day long! Drink up as a post-workout meal or energy pick up in the afternoon.

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 large avocado

1/2 cucumber (peeled)

3 Tbsp. lemon juice (fresh if you can get it) I LOVE picking Meyer lemons from my dad’s tree :)

2 cups organic spinach leaves (preferably steamed for a few minutes)

1/2 cup coconut cream or coconut milk

1 Tbsp MCT oil

2 - 3 scoops 100% grass-fed whey protein

1 scoop Energizing Soy Protein

add Ice

Optional Sweeteners - xylitol or stevia

INSTRUCTIONS:

Add all ingredients in the blender except the proteins. (You’ll add it in later)

Blend well until smooth and creamy.

Add ice to your liking. Then add protein and blend once more.

Taste and adjust flavors per your desire. Fill up your cups and enjoy! You’re doing your body good!!
